A friend and I are trying to build a pet project in Pakyow - the first time either of us have used it, and we're struggling on a couple of issues that we're hoping someone here can help with:
1) We want the results of a search to update in real-time in the browser as the user changes the search criteria. Not sure if mutables are the appropriate thing to use as the state that is changing is per-session/per-user rather than global (shared between all visitors). Any tips on the best way to do that using Pakyow? (Edit: actually the state is really per-page, as a single user/visitor could have the search page open in two tabs with different criteria in each.)
2) We're also having an issue installing the pakyow-rake-db gem, that maybe someone here can help with. Putting it into the Gemfile with no qualifications gives the following error when I try to bundle:
"Could not find gem 'pakyow-rake-db' in any of the gem sources listed in your Gemfile or available on this machine"
If we specify the repo with "gem 'pakyow-rake-db', git: 'https://github.com/bryanp/pakyow-rake-db.git'", the bundle runs ok, but it seemingly doesn't install the gem. The Gemfile has this paragraph:
pakyow-core (~> 0.9)
pakyow-support (~> 0.9)
rake (~> 11.1)
sequel (~> 4.25)
But trying to run any of the new rake db-related tasks just generates a "Don't know how to build task foo" message, and indeed the gem isn't showing in the relevant Ruby version directory (2.2.2). I feel like this is just something we're not appreciating about how the Gemfile works, but haven't found any discussion of what's happening online (probably because we're not searching for the right question).
(ETA I've managed to track down the gem in the Bundler subdirectory of the Gem dir, but haven't yet found out how to get the app to look there for it)
